A new family-owned business is joining Paso Market Walk, bringing decades of culinary experience and a fresh vision. Brothers Efrain (Effie) and Jesus, both seasoned chefs with deep roots in the Central Coast restaurant scene, are launching their next chapter with The Third Degree—a name that honors their history and marks an exciting new beginning. Effie spent 32 years as the original chef of Berry Hill Bistro which then transitioned to The Third Degree by Berry Hill, and the two brothers purchased from the original owner. 

 

Now, with the support of Jesus’ children—Susie, a senior at Coast High School, and Danny, a proud 2025 Paso Robles Bearcat graduate—the family is introducing breakfast to Paso Market Walk, while continuing to serve the beloved lunch and dinner menu. With a passion for food, family, and community, The Third Degree is ready to serve up something special.
